HARIO, a manufacturer of heatproof glass, has been producing laboratory glass since 1921. As the only manufacturer in Japan that has an α32 heatproof furnace, we also produce hand-blown products. With the hand-blown technology that has been nurtured in Japan, we were able to produce the first generation Kamiokande (neutrino detector) and glass music instruments. Laboratory glass of the HARIO brand is supported by an established history and trustworthy raw materials.

HARIO's glass and blank products for laboratory use are made of heatproof glass featuring a coefficient of linear expansion of 32Xl0-7cm/deg (30-330℃). We use only strictly selected raw materials including even chemicals to control bubbles in glass. These products are manufactured at our Koga factory in Ibraraki Prefecture.
Almost no raw materials dissolve during experimental work at laboratories. Our heatproof, colorless and transparent products enable users to easily judge contents.

Introduction of HARIO
HARIO's glass tubes are made of safe raw materials.
HARIO's glass tubes are made of the same raw materials as those for glass containers for experimental use. They are all made of heatproof glass featuring a coefficient of linear expansion of 32Xl0-7cm/deg (30-330℃). We use only strictly selected raw materials including even chemicals to control bubbles in glass. These products are manufactured at our Koga factory in Ibraraki Prefecture.
Almost no raw materials dissolve during experimental work at laboratories. Our heatproof, colorless and transparent products enable users to easily judge contents. Our heatproof products enable all users to obtain accurate analysis results and trust from customers.

HARIO entered the market for automobile headlight lenses in 1980. We currently manufacture aspherical lenses for automobiles and other press products, including lenses for fog lights. We produce environmentally friendly glass products in a toxic-substance-free, clean environment, using a direct-current electric glass furnace.

Lenses for headlights and fog lights
We produce aspherical lenses for headlights of automobiles by first press-forming them and then polishing the flat side. The illumination intensity of headlights is subject to a strict standard. The aspherical shape matching a refractive index of the glass, as well as the degrees of the flat and mirror surfaces and the thickness of the polished side influence the illumination intensity of headlights. All of these elements must be absolutely accurate. As the lens is used for the headlights, part of the face of each automobile, there are strict standards for the finish of the polished surface and regarding flaws in the glass itself. Thoroughly respecting these difficult conditions, we at HARIO have developed our proprietary polishing system consisting of highly-accurate polishing and finishing equipment.
